Apprentice Dental Nurse responsibilities

  • Working under the supervision of experienced dental nurses and clinicians, they assist with chairside support during a range of NHS and private treatments, helping procedures run smoothly while gaining hands-on experience in a safe and structured environment.

  • The Apprentice Dental Nurse supports the preparation of treatment rooms, ensures instruments and materials are ready for use, and assists with cleaning and decontamination processes in line with infection control, Health & Safety, and practice policies.

  • They shadow qualified team members to build their understanding of clinical procedures, cross-infection control, safeguarding, and regulatory standards.

  • Committed to learning and professional development, the Apprentice Dental Nurse focuses on delivering a positive patient experience by welcoming patients, helping them feel comfortable, and observing how to support individuals throughout their treatment journey.

  • Through teamwork, organisation, and a willingness to learn, they contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while building the foundation for a successful career in dental nursing.
